Since we have taken our first steps in life we all have personal experience with falling and as we age slips and falls become an even more alarming problem. It is estimated that the annual cost of slip and fall accidents tops $100 billion dollars a year not to mention immeasurable pain and suffering, most of which affects our nations elderly. According to the National Safety Council (NSC) falls are the leading cause of accidental death for people age 85 and older and the U.S. Census Bureau reports that this age group is expected to double with the next decade and in-turn, dramatically increase the number of slip and fall accidents.
