NFSI Standards Committee Application

In June 2006, the NFSI was recognized by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) as an Accredited Standards Developer (ASD) to which NFSI will develop standards associated with the prevention of slips, trips and falls. At its October 2006 meeting, the Board of Directors of the NFSI approved the establishment of a Standards Committee (SC) to develop and integrate all current and future NFSI walkway safety standards.

Your acceptance as a member of the committee(s) is contingent upon maintaining proper balance of the various categories of interest. Please check the category which most accurately describes your area of interest:

Producer An entity that produces or supplies any product that can be related to slip-trip and fall prevention. This includes, but is not limited to manufacturers of: flooring material, cleaners and surface finishes; floor auditing, testing, buffing and burnishing devices etc. Click here to view annual membership dues

End User An entity that maintains or installs ANY pedestrian walking surface or consumes products which impacts the probability of slips, trips and falls. Users also include the owners and occupiers of said premises. Example walking surfaces include: walkways, floors, pools, spas, tubs, showers, boats, construction sites etc. Click here to view annual membership dues

General Interest General Interest members are neither Producers nor Users. This category includes, but is not limited to, regulatory agencies (state and federal), researchers, industry associations, educators and any individual or organization that is effected by or interested in the need for slip, trip and fall prevention. In accordance with Section 2.7 of the Operating Principles and Procedures followed by the NFSI in compliance with ANSI Essential Requirement, members are expected to fulfill attendance, voting, correspondence and other obligations. If you do not have time and financial resources necessary to actively participate in the committee(s) work, do not apply.
